datamine-pokerΕντελώς τυχαία, έπεσα πρόσφατα πάνω σε ένα άρθρο, με τίτλο που αμέσως μου δημιούργησε έντονο ενδιαφέρον: "On-line Poker and Data Mining"...

Διαβάζοντας το άρθρο , όπως και διάφορα άλλα σχετικά κείμενα που αναζήτησα στη συνέχεια, διαπίστωσα πως το εντυπωσιακό δεν είναι ότι κάτι τέτοιο συμβαίνει,  αλλά πως η χρήση εργαλείων data mining, ή "hand grabbers" όπως τα αποκαλούν στον ολοένα και πιο δημοφιλή χώρο του on-line poker, έχει λάβει διαστάσεις επιδημίας!

[I was pleased to read that data mining has delivered spectacular results for the Insurance Fraud Bureau. Using Detica’s specialist services they were able to uncover gangs causing or faking car accidents, resulting in 74 arrests and a five-to-one return on investment, saving insurers at least £8 million.
